The Radical History Seafront Trail

The Radical History Seaside Trail is a delightful walk starting at the Eastbourne Pier and proceeding westwards. It charts some of Eastbourne’s radical history including, Engels’ love for our seaside town, Eleanor Marx, George Meek, the Bathchair Man, The 1929 Mackintosh Rebellion, The 1976 Transport and General Workers Union recuperation hotel, the International Workers Mural and Paul Robeson at The Winter Gardens.

We hope you enjoy the walk. Do let us know how you got on.

The walk is taken from the longer Radical History walk: Engels and The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists.
